Closing Ceremony of Spring Gala Held at International Islamic University Islamabad

The Closing Ceremony and Awards Ceremony of the 2022 Spring Gala was held here at the Women’s Campus of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) which was honored by the President, IIUI Dr Hathal Homoud Alotaibi

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News – June 4, 2022): The closing and award ceremony of the 2022 Spring Gala was held here at the Women’s Campus of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) which was honored by the President, IIUI Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi.

The mega event was organized by the Department of Student Affairs, DSA Female Campus of the university.

The gala saw dozens of competitions between 9 faculties and around 50 departments. These sports and extracurricular activity events included cricket, athletics, tug of war, badminton, volleyball, futsal, basketball, Hifz, naat, quiz, bazi bait, drafting Essays, Photography and Making, Flower Arranging and Entrepreneurial Gala, Business Activity Contest, Essay Writing Debate in English, Urdu and Arabic, Flower Arrangements, Calligraphy and Painting Contest, Contest video and photography and web development contest.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hathal motivated the students to stay active in curricular and extracurricular activities. He said the role of women is vital in the progress of any society.

He said talented students, especially women, would be given maximum opportunities to excel. He congratulated the women’s leadership of the campus for organizing a successful event and assured of all the support possible for the young people.

He said such events are the richest sources of a healthy life.

The President of the UII believed that education and the role of women can lead to the solution of the main problems of society. He said sports galas are a harbinger of female empowerment and also a symbol of confidence.

In her speech, Vice President of the Women’s Campus, Dr. Samina Malik congratulated the students saying that the confidence they showed at the gala will stay with them throughout their lives. She advised them to focus on learning knowledge, the art of argumentation and mastering the trait of trust to win the company over.

Student Advisor Dr. Sumyya Chughtai in her address informed about the goals of the sports gala and also appreciated the efforts and hard work of her team. She said women’s health is vital for the progress of society.

She felt that studies at university cannot be limited to the numbers game, but that performance in sports and extracurricular activities is equally important. She vowed that such constructive events would continue on campus. On occasion, the presidents, directors and staff of the sports office and other members of the organizing team were also present.

On the occasion, the President of the IIUI awarded prizes to the winning teams of the competitions. The Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences was declared the best in sports competitions while the Faculty of Social Sciences was declared the best faculty in other competitions.
