CHENNAI: The government of Tamil Nadu, which extended lockdown in the state until June 28 on Sunday, has divided the state into three categories. The government maintained existing restrictions in 11 western and central districts. In 23 other districts, it allowed more services and facilities to operate for extended hours. He announced further relaxations in the Chennai region comprising the districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpet.
Category 1: 11 neighborhoods – Coimbatore, the districts of Nilgiris, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Karur, Namakkal, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Myladuthurai
Category 2: 23 municipalities – Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, Kallakurichi, Kanyakumari, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Perambalur, Pudukottai, Ramanathapuram, Ranipet, Sivaganga, Theni, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Tirupattur, Tiruvyannamoralai, Tichutannoralai,
Category 3: Four quarters – Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpet Districts

The existing restrictions and relaxations will continue until June 28, 2021.
Category 2
# Autonomous supply and department stores, vegetable shops, butchers and fish stalls can operate from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
# Roadside vendors selling vegetables, fruits and flowers can sell from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
# Hotels, restaurants and bakeries can operate between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. and provide parcel services only; Food delivery e-commerce services permitted during the period
# Other e-commerce service providers are also allowed to operate between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
# Sweet and savory shops authorized to remain open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
# State government offices providing essential services can operate with 100% employees. Other government offices will operate with 50% employees
# Registrars are operating at full capacity
# All private offices can operate with 33% employees
# Export units and their suppliers can operate with 100% workers
# Other industrial units to operate with 33% workers
# Appliance and stationery stores can remain open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
# Bike and two-wheel repair shops, hardware stores and spare parts stores can operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
# Car dealerships can remain open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
# Optical and shoe stores and durable consumer goods stores and service centers can remain open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
# Pottery and craft units and the shops that sell them can operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
# Electricians, plumbers, mechanics and carpenters can offer their services to customers from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
# Cell phone and accessory stores and building supply stores may remain open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
# All types of construction activities are allowed
# Sports training and competitions without authorized spectators from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
# Theaters can undertake maintenance work one day a week, after obtaining permission from the authorities
# The public can take taxis and cars after obtaining e-passes; only three and two passengers are allowed in taxis and cars other than drivers
# Housing finance companies, NBFC MFIs authorized to operate with 33% employees
Category 3
# Non-air-conditioned buses are allowed to circulate with an occupancy of 50% and according to all Covid standards; Inter-district travel allowed without any restriction or e-pass in these four districts
# Metro services authorized with an occupancy rate of 50%
# The public can take taxis and cars without the need for electronic registrations; but only three and two passengers allowed in taxis and cars, in addition to drivers
# Film and television shootings allowed with a maximum of 100 people; all participants must take the Covid test
# Post-production work is allowed

Wedding
A maximum of 50 people are allowed to attend weddings. People in Districts of Category Two and Three are permitted to travel between Districts to attend weddings after obtaining an e-pass.
