The Holidaysburg program deserves a reminder | News, Sports, Jobs

I attended the Hollidaysburg Community Choir concert on Sunday April 24th at Hollidaysburg area high school, “Here and everywhere.”

It was an engaging program and full of great music/tunes.

This concert took two years to prepare due to COVID-19.

It included The Chorus, Becky’s School of Dance and Ian Brumbaugh, who performed in productions on our big stage at the Mishler Theatre.

What a thrill and what an honor to see Brumbaugh’s performance.

His interpretation of “Desperado” by The Eagles was a show stopper.

Then a special interpretation of “Bring Him Home” Les Misérables, Claude-Michel Schonbert sent me into a higher stratosphere.

Brumbaugh has a deep, clear voice that connects to your soul.

Watch its performance at the Mishler and you won’t be disappointed.

Favorite song of the night “Your Cheating Heart” lyrics and music by Hank Williams, arranged by Kirby Shaw.

Closing number, “Creation Sings” music by Mark Hayes incorporating ” Ode to Joy “ by Ludwig Van Beethoven lyrics by Pamela Martin, sent you home singing all the tunes from the show.

It was once again a delightful performance by the Hollidaysburg Community Choir.

Congratulations to all the members and director.
